If you are looking for ecigarettes, it is likely that you will have come across the V2 models. According to their website, they are the best brand available online. If you surf the web, it is likely that you get bombarded with V2 advertisements and banners, so it is likely to be true that they are indeed the biggest online. But are they also the best? I purchased a package to give them a try.
The box is seriously impressive. I know, you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover, looks can be deceiving and other platitudes like that, but I really liked what I saw. I have never seen an electronic cigarette package of this size either! It is a really nice flip-top box, which is really sturdy. In my box, I found two cartomizers, two batteries and two chargers. The batteries are, as you would expect, the KR808D, because these are the best ones there. They come in manual and automatic, as well as short, standard and long sizes, which is something not all companies can claim. Another thing that sets them apart is that they include a wall adapter. So, 10/10 for the box content.
Performance and Battery Life
The KR808 is a really good battery, so the performance of the V2 cigs batteries is really good too. I also purchased a 150mAh battery, of which I didn’t expect much, but which actually lasted four ours. That’s not bad at all, particularly if you like your ecigarette to be really life-like. Besides this, I purchased a 380mAh battery, which was really cool. Yes, it is a little bit big so it takes away from the life-likeness, but it lasts and last. One battery was more than sufficient for me, meaning I could charge up overnight and be good to go for the rest of the day.
What caught my eye is that the V2 uses 4.2 volt, rather than 3.7 volt. This means that their vapor is hotter and higher in quantity. Plus, because the batteries are sealed, they cannot leak and explode, and we’ve all heard the horror stories of that happening! Overall, 9/10 for the batteries in other words.
The vapor is very important, of course. Since the battery is so good, the vapor really didn’t disappoint either. It is made of vegetable glycerin and propylene glycol, as you would expect, but the vapor is really satisfying. I like to have long draws, but even I wasn’t able to suck long enough to reach the switch off point (it’s at 10 seconds, by the way). This is also due to the fact that the V2 uses a higher voltage than normal. Sure, there are not as good as the really large vaporizers, but they aren’t as comfortable as this one. 9/10 for the vapor as well, in other words.
The Flavors and E-Liquid
The liquid is the same as most e-liquids: vegetable glycerin and propylene glycol. This gives good vapor and a decent and realistic throat hit. The throat hit, however, wasn’t as strong as what I expected, considering the performance was so good. Perhaps it is because I’ve always smoked quite heavy tobacco, so I found I really had to go for the highest possible strength.
The flavors leave quite a bit to be desired as well. However, taste of juice is hugely subjective. Just because I wasn’t overly fond of the Menthol or the Red doesn’t mean you won’t like them. In fact, I have yet to find an e-cigarette that produces a menthol and red that I do like! The Red was too strong (I know I have just complained about the lack of throat hit…). Having read a couple of V2 reviews myself, I know that I am quite alone with my opinion, so don’t let it put you off.
What I will say, however, is that the cartomizers are of fantastic quality. I have used many other e-cigarettes and they have all leaked, but the V2 cartomizers seem to be completely and properly sealed. The plastic caps are glued to the metal body, which does mean that refilling is difficult. However, this is probably why they are marketed as disposable, rather than reusable cartomizers. Overall, I would give this part of the V2 a 7/10.
- The presentation is amazing. I personally think that is important.
- The automatic batteries are sealed, making them completely safe and removing the risk of exploding e-cigarettes.
- The battery life is really impressive and you will have to recharge much less often than normal.
- The vapor production is really good, as would be expected with the fantastic batteries.
- The product comes with a lifetime limited warranty, which guarantees your product will continue to work.
- There are a number of options in terms of customizing the device to your own taste.
- Good range of flavors
What I Didn’t Like
- The cartomizers are sealed, meaning you cannot refill them. This is clutching as straws, though, since they are marketed as disposable.
- I personally wasn’t too happy with the flavors, although I only tried two. Furthermore, taste is totally subjective, so this is simply something you are going to have to try for yourself.
I have to say that although I wasn’t too impressed with the two flavors I tried, the V2 is still by far one of the best electronic cigarettes I have ever tried, and believe me, I have tried many. The batteries are truly amazing, and it makes me wonder why these are so superior, when they are using the KR808, which I knew was good, but not this good! Also, the vapor production is beyond what you would find anywhere else, and that really impressed me. The price is very fair, particularly in comparison with other products on the market, and since the company offers a very good warranty and is renowned for fantastic customer service, I simply accepted that ecigarettes may cost a little bit less if you were to go to a different brand. I personally didn’t have any problems with the device, but I am sure that if you do, you would immediately get all your money back.
